When starting out in 2018 I joined Instagram and YouTube and started following thirty plus influencers and content creators, by the end of the year I had reduced it to six.
One of those was Victoria McGrath's @inthefrow accounts on both channels and her blog on the website www.inthefrow.com.
Her content is full of beautiful images in stunning locations, with the latest on trend pieces and brands. Her husband Alex must be credited for the inspiring quality and story telling in the images, their chemistry shines through in every photograph.
And whilst the visual content is attractive Victoria's knowledge and passion for fashion is evident throughout her blogs and vlogs. Armed with a PHD in Fashion her views and advice come from a place of in-depth education and experience which is refreshing and unique. So when Victoria launched her book The New Fashion Rules I was interested to see where she had taken the next steps on from her blog.
Six simple rules define the chapters which cover forty moments which impacted and changed the fashion industry and its consumers. Here are a couple that resonated with me and my fashion journey:-
- ASOS changes the online shopping game
- Kates sells out the Burberry trench
- Sophia Amoruso launches Nasty Gal
- Burberry redefines the rules of the catwalk
What brought the book alive for me is Victoria's experiences and views dispersed throughout, along with clean modern illustrations.
So if fashion is your thing I would highly recommend either following Victoria and/or reading her book as even though I am almost twice her age I certainly picked up tips and advice I have applied to my fashion choices and wardrobe.
